Greenergy Fuels is the largest trading entity of the group, supplying 15 billion litres of fuel to its customers each year.It represents one of the most complex areas of the group in terms of accounting and reporting. Located in Didsbury, Manchester Based within the Finance department on Towers Business Park in Didsbury with easy access to the motorway network and Manchester City Centre which is 11 minutes away by train. Purpose of role To assist with all aspects of the Group Management reporting. The role is to deliver high quality, timely and accurate Group numbers to senior management and external counterparties. For some stakeholders the Group management figures are the only finances they see of the company, therefore quality is key. Reporting to Financial Controller (Gross margin) Main duties of the role Management Reporting · Reporting – Greenergy operates various divisions around the world, this role is to make sense of the information from various parts of the business, aggregate them and report to senior management. Lead meetings and communicate effectively · Variance analysis – Understanding and drilling down into variances to flesh out real business issues from actual/budget and forecast noise · Understand Key drivers -be able to present key trends to senior management · Work with key teams – Working closely with thedivisionalaccountants to publish the Group results. Ensure consistency in the results by working closely with the Corporate reporting team, keeping up to date with changes. Working with the Group forecasting analyst to ensure the latest predictions are incorporated into the results. · No surprises -have a clear method to reporting to ensure senior management and or management accountants are not surprised by key financial messages being put out, working closely with all stakeholders to achieve this · Listen -Be part of the business meetings, read updates and passively collect the key trends for the period, be inquisitive, match the information gathered to the financials and query when something doesn’t feel right Process management and system control · Process control –A large amount of our financial information is controlled in Oracle, key for this role is understanding what needs to be done and when. Create / amend work flows to get the smoothest reporting cycle and debottleneck the process · Develop data collection methods and processes –As a fast group company with many systems the role requires the candidate to develop data collection methods for a consistent and timely reporting even when known issues exist · Distribute data – Key to the role is ensuring data is distributed to the right people at the right time, in doing so the data can be returned and recycled through the reporting process Required competencies · Be a strong communicator and business writer, lead meetings and possess an ability to develop trusting and credible relationships at all levels of the business and across various teams · Strong Excel skills are an absolute requirement · Able to analyse and interpret financial data and relate back to business issues · Be a strong communicator and possess an ability to develop trusting and credible relationships at all levels of the business and across various teams · Have a questioning and inquisitive mind – not afraid to ask questions or challenge convention, nor to drive improvements and efficiencies as appropriate · Be flexible and adaptable, understand the overall goals of the team and actively seek to help achieve them. · Be flexible at critical times of the month to go the extra mile to close the Group results · Must be able to build flexible and understandable Excel models People are key to our continuing success; we work hard to reward, develop and retain staff.
