Speech & Language Therapy Manager – Band 7 - London & Neighbouring Counties Salary: £42,000k – £45,000k per annum Hours of Work: 40 per week The Company: This is a huge opportunity to work for a fantastic company who have an already successful team and relationship with their clients. My client is privileged to have supported hundreds of people in their residential care homes in London and around the UK. Their extensive experience enables each person to live a rich and fulfilled life with the support they need. The Role: My Client is experienced at providing the right specialist for each individual. The people they support have a wide range of needs including learning disabilities, mental health needs, autism and Asperger’s and these complex needs require a specialist and tailored approach. The SLT Manager is responsible for the management of the SLT service, delivery of effective evidence-based Speech and Language Therapy, educating/training others in identifying, assessing and managing dysphagia. Role Responsibilities: To oversee, and further develop, the provision of an evidence-based SLT service in collaboration with multi-disciplinary clinical teams adhering to professional standards at all times To manage, supervise and improve the SLT team ensuring optimum delivery of SLT services within Sequence Care To promote SLT within the organisation, to external stake-holders and any other individual's involved in support of Sequence Care clients Provide specialist assessment for clients with complex communication needs Maintain up to date clinical records, write timely reports and correspondence reflecting specialist knowledge in line with RCSLT professional standards. Support the transfer and discharge of clients on caseload Essential Skills & Requirements: You will be dysphagia trained You will have a recognised Speech & Language Therapy degree or equivalent qualification Yow will be a registered member of HCPC with a license to practice You will be a Registered member of RCSLT 3 years plus post graduate experience working in learning disabilities. Additional training is desirable, for example, Makaton, Talking Mats, PECS Demonstration of strong leadership and management qualities are essential, as is a dynamic and flexible approach to the role Must be driven, motivated and committed to providing industry leading care and service.
