Overview

McDiarmid Whitmore Ltd are currently working on behalf of a leading facilities management contractor seeking to appoint an Asset Manager to join their team to be responsible for co-ordinating the management of all assets in order for the Retail Sector to achieve governance and client contractual commitments, including preparing, developing and delivering Asset Management Plans. The role will be required to ensure identification of asset per individual and location, and the first three months will require frequent uk wide travel to deliver upon these objectives. Following this period the role will primarily be based in Bolton. Key Responsibilities Managing assets in a way that provides the best value on a sustainable basis, supporting the delivery of services in the right place and in the appropriate environment. Managing and maintaining accurate and current Asset Registers for each individual and contract, and capturing all asset information within a database system. Engaging with internal departments, customers, service providers and both internal and external stakeholders to understand needs and asset collaboration opportunities. Identifying, understanding and balancing risks between the performance of delivery commitments, asset allocation, asset specification and budget. Assets expected to manage (but not strictly limited to) Vehicle Management (Vans / Cars) Trackers (Vehicle tracking devices) Fuel Cards Mobile Phones Tablets Wifi Dongles / Hotspots Laptops / Desktops (inc. associated hardware) Cleaning Equipment (Vehicle based) Cleaning Equipment (Site Located / Client Owned) Asset Storage Management The list of compliance requirements includes (but not strictly limited to) Developing and maintaining detailed asset register/s as required for the governance, financial management and delivery of facilities management services across all managed areas. Legislative requirements in respect of PAT testing, etc All environmental legislative requirements such as WEEE waste disposal, hazardous materials legislation etc. All relevant health and safety legislation. Experience and attributes: Proven experience in asset management. Computer literacy sufficient to operate spreadsheet and word processing applications (i.e. Microsoft Excel (Intermediate), Microsoft Word, Microsoft Powerpoint). Ability to work with financial concepts and perform financial analysis including procurement leverage opportunities. Able to demonstrate good management experience techniques. Ability to work under own motivation. Experience of effective risk identification and risk management (including Health & Safety implications) The role comes with a company car and expensed travel.
