Overview
A number of opportunities have arisen for a Defects Officer to join a major RSL and Developer, based in central London. In these roles you will be responsible for the defect management for a number of development schemes involving; diagnosing defects, liaising with residents and external stakeholders, site inspections and managing contractors. Client Details One of London's leading Housing Association based in the heart of London. Description The key responsibilities: To deliver an excellent defects service to residents in the defects liability period. Support the Defects Manager and assist in monitoring defect cases. Report on defects performance. Confidently manage contractor performance on defects and aftercare, ensuring all cases follow through to resolution. Liaise with client departments, contractors, developers and consultants to ensure the successful rectification of issues on schemes. Use technical knowledge to agree solutions with Defects surveyors where necessary and direct contractors responsibilities. Relationship building with client teams and work with project managers, leasehold, housing management and resident liaison staff to ensure high quality communication with residents. Profile The successful candidate: Experience in defects resolution, aftercare or repairs within Social Housing or a Private background. Experience in delivering the best service to customers and confident in setting realistic expectations. Ability to use initiative to solve problems independently in a professional setting. Excellent communicator and have experience in communicating and negotiating with internal and external stakeholders. Experience in the construction process and an understanding of project management. Job Offer The successful candidate will be welcome into a new, established Property Defects team within a reputable RSL and Developer. This is a permanent contract, paying a competitive annual salary of £29,000 - £33,000 plus an excellent benefits package.
