Latent Defects Underwriter

Underwriter/Senior Underwriter required for a well-known MGA that specialises within latent defects/property/construction business. Overview: This is a new role within the latent defects/structural indemnity underwriting team at this business and they are looking at hiring an additional Underwriter to support the ongoing growth in the account. This growth is being achieved through a combination of delegated authorities and organic growth in Broker/MGA referrals. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the construction and/or latent defects markets who wants to develop their career within an experienced underwriting team and niche business. Strong knowledge of latent defects/structural indemnity within the UK market is a must. Prior experience in writing profitable business within the LD/SI sector with strong relationships in the UK market. Technically proficient within home warranty terminology with the ability to develop business and ascertain what risks to write and support. Ability to develop and nurture accounts in a profitable manner. Location across London and South East, ideally in London majority of the time. Experience & Qualities Experience working in insurance, preferably in an underwriting environment with a LD/SI insurance background. Good strategic thinker.
