Senior Adjuster – Latent Defects – Charles Taylor Adjusting – London – Competitive Salary & Package Charles Taylor Adjusting is one of the leading international loss adjusting businesses. We focus on commercial losses and claims in the aviation, energy, marine, property, casualty and special risk markets, many of which are large and complex in nature. These include onshore and offshore energy claims, maritime casualties, aircraft losses, large infrastructure claims and financial lines losses. We are currently recruiting for a Senior Adjuster who will be part of the Latent Defects team working with the Construction & Engineering division; supervised by the divisions Managing Directors and Operations Director. The purpose of the role is to handle all aspects of general loss adjusting allied specifically to Latent Defect Insurances in the UK, within Charles Taylor Adjusting. Key Responsibilities 1. To perform a loss adjusting function for claims predominately within the latent defects market and develop existing skills to assist with other areas of loss adjusting as required. This will involve: - Receiving and acknowledging new claims. Undertaking site visits and meeting with Insured Parties; their representatives and other interested parties. Whilst some elements will be subject to a delegated authority the role will involve preparing preliminary reports; commenting in detail on all aspects of the claim including policy liability; quantum; subrogation and future actions. Instructing and controlling surveyors, lawyers, forensic scientists and other Experts as necessary. Communicating regularly with all interested parties, calculating and approving interim payments, preparing interim reports and other communications. Calculating and agreeing settlement of claims and preparing final reports. Providing support and guidance to colleagues in respect of policy application and methods of claim consideration. 2. To assist in the development of the Latent Defects Team and the Construction & Engineering generally and other staff in your field of expertise. 3. To assist in the development and improvement of the professional services undertaken by Charles Taylor adjusting, which will involve working closely with the Directors of the Construction & Engineering Team in all aspects of the role. 4. Assist in and develop the effective marketing of Charles Taylor adjusting including: - Developing working relationships with existing Clients. Helping to identify and plan approaches to new Clients. Assist others with their marketing functions. Hosting and attending evening drinks and other social events. Assisting in the preparation and delivery of presentations to Clients. 5. Key Attributes Extensive experience of handling property damage or Latent Defects claims from first notification of loss through to conclusion. Able to undertake detailed policy review and ensure its correct application in any given circumstance. Well versed in all Microsoft Office applications and hold a level of computer skills to enable them to maintain a simple claims and accountancy database. Qualifications are not necessary, but a desire to obtain industry qualifications is essential, which Charles Taylor are happy to sponsor the successful candidate through.
