Overview

This position has become available as a result of increased workflow in the London Restructuring Services team. The purpose of the role is to be responsible for a portfolio of principally corporate insolvency and advisory engagements. You will be pro-active in progressing those cases in conjunction with the case/investigations manager and office-holder. Job Role • Manage a portfolio of cases including Administrations, CVAs, CVLs and WUCs. • Assist with initial meetings with directors alongside the office holder. • Support the delivery of advisory assignments, such as Independent Business Reviews, solvency reviews, options reviews and short-term critical cash flow appraisals. • Able to prepare all statutory documentation for pre and post appointment work. • Work alongside a manager to provide input into the strategy for an assignment. • Experience in instructing agents/solicitors. • Assisting tax/VAT specialists to complete formal returns. • Conducts investigation work to meet the requirements of SIP2 and CDDA. • Applies up to date knowledge of appropriate case law and legislation. • Undertakes the recovery and analysis of company records. • Prepares conduct reports for submission to the Insolvency Service. • Identifies potential antecedent transactions/other claims pursuant to the Insolvency Act 1986 and the Companies Act 2006. • Liaises with instructed solicitors as required to ensure asset realisation/potential claims are progressed. • Reviews documentation provided by solicitors, such as witness statements, and ensures accuracy. • Holds regular meetings with case manager and office-holder to ensure cases are being progressed in a timely manner and in accordance with the agreed strategy/budgets. • Manages WIP in accordance with agreed budgets. • Manages portfolio using appropriate forms and maintains files in accordance with the team’s standardised format. • Produces statutory reports. • Provides assistance and support to junior team members. • Builds strong working relationships with clients and intermediaries. • Maintains control and stability under pressure whilst recognising deadlines. Person Specification • Experience of managing a diverse corporate insolvency portfolio and able to work effectively under pressure and to strict deadlines. • Experience of dealing with agents and solicitors. • Experience in contentious insolvency and complex investigation matters. • Holds up to date knowledge of appropriate restructuring services case law and legislation. • Experience of producing reports to creditors relating to insolvency cases. • Good report writing skills, contributing to reports to key stakeholders and secured lenders. • Strong command of Word, Excel and PowerPoint. • Excellent numerical and analytical skills – strong understanding of financial statements, management accounts and forecast models. Ability to prepare Estimated Outcome Statements and scenario analysis. • Experience of litigious insolvency proceedings is desirable. • Must be able to present a professional image to the firm’s clients. • Excellent written and oral presentation skills required. • Ability to identify issues through sound analysis and application of commercial acumen. • Ability to express ideas with authority and conviction through verbal and written communication. • Desire to help grow and develop the department. • Keen to assist with networking events. • Ability to develop self and others. • Ability to research and interpret information. • Previous insolvency experience is essential. • CPI or ACA qualified.
