Packaging Buyer 6 Month FTC with a high possibility of transfer to a permanent position. We are proud to partner with an award winning, international Luxury drinks distributor who are in search of an innovative and creative Buyer who can help source the highest quality packaging & POS manufacturers. Lead the worldwide sourcing of exceptional and unique new suppliers who can provide the highest quality packaging & POS products. Ensure that innovation and creativity is at the forefront of all new supplier selection with a focus on sustainability and ethical sourcing. Play a key role in the development of new ideas and products through creative sourcing. Create a reliable, motivated supplier roster with the ability to supply premium materials in varying size batches Manage new contracts and on-going negotiations with suppliers to ensure the highest quality at the right price. Manage all supply issues and problems with suppliers/ manufacturers ensuring all parties are aware of the supply road map. Manage all supplier reviews, selection and management of performance Manage supplier reporting & analysis on performance and cost saving Conduct regular market reports and analysis to ensure optimum supplier selection Take responsibility for supplier quality compliance and improvement Develop an internal quality auditing system and oversee its implementation and usage. As a successful SME going through sustained growth it is essential that the buyer is a hugely proactive individual who will lead from the front and provide the following experience – Extensive knowledge and experience of sourcing high-quality packaging products and suppliers from around the world. Experience of sourcing innovative and highly creative packaging & POS materials and product. Excellent knowledge of sourcing, managing and negotiating with new supplier Pedigree of managing contract negotiations between new and existing suppliers. Strong project management and planning experience within a buying function Experience with quality assurance would be advantageous Superb communication and stakeholder management skills Excellent number cruncher and experience with excel & ERP systems Hugely proactive individual, able to think outside the box under pressure Ideally you have experience of working within a start-up or fast growth SME If you match all the above criteria and you are excited by the prospect of working with one of the most dynamic and exciting companies in the UK right now, then please apply.
