Systems Engineer ( All levels ) Location: Portsmouth Salary: £30,000 - £60,000 A global aerospace and defence organisation is looking for a Systems Engineer responsible for the high level design specification of the Common Architecture for the next generation of the Combat System for UK submarines. This role will provide you with the chance to work very closely with the infrastructure and subsystem design teams, along with taking requirements from the customer of what they need their combat system to do, and produce architectural requirements, constraints and policies to define the system architecture of the combat system. Responsibilities - Systems Engineer Attending stakeholder workshops to elicit requirements Undertaking system modelling to define the solution Engaging with suppliers to advance solution development Authoring work products for internal review/approval such as design descriptions and statements of work, tactical service definitions and architectural and system policies Engaging with subject matter experts to ensure safety and security requirements are addressed Delivering against agreed work packages and be entrusted to communicate progress or issues Skills and Qualifications - Systems Engineer Complex systems architecture definition, requirements and design management experience gained from a complex engineering environment, such as defence or aerospace Ability to apply systems thinking to complex system and architectural challenges.
