Overview
CK Group are recruiting for a Data Scientist to join a biopharmaceutical organisation at their research facilities located in Slough. This position is temporary for 1 year with the potential of extension. The Company: Our client is a global biopharmaceutical company whose medicine treats thousands of patients around the world who live with severe diseases. Salary: £40 - £45 per hour (Inside IR35) Location: This role is located on a well-established biopharma R&D facility based in Slough. There are good transport links whether you drive or even use public transport. Slough is a great place to live and work and is easily commutable from Reading, Oxford and London. . Data Scientist Role: As a Data Scientist you will be responsible for harnessing big data from discovery and clinical settings to drive translational decision-making in the development of new medicines. Your main duties will be: - Establish genomic data processing pipelines and analytical plans to inform target identification, validation and biomarker discovery. - Process, analyse and interpret data from omics studies across the portfolio. - Develop approaches to utilize state of the art told and technologies, or develop new methods where appropriate. Your Background: The ideal candidate for this role will have the following qualifications, skills and experience: - Thorough understanding of statistics, data mining, and visualization of biological data types. - Advanced computational skills such as operating in a HPC Unix environment, cloud-based computational and/or pipelining platforms, and programming languages such as Python or R. - Expertise in pre-processing, integration and analysis of different omic data types (e.g. gene expression, epigenetic data, metabolomics, etc.) Entitlement to work in the UK is essential.
