Cobol Legacy Developers - Newcastle - Up to £500 per day - 6 months - Some remote working GSA Techsource are currently recruiting for 2 Cobol Developers working for a Central Government Client based in Newcastle. The successful candidates will be working on a large legacy application modernisation programme. Role: MF COBOL development To support the analysis of the source code Complete additional inventory documentation as required Develop simple test scripts to use in code conversion phases To answer ad-hoc queries from the project team Application support and application maintenance Essential: Experience of using Cobol and/or MF (Microfocus) Cobol and associated development environment and tools Knowledge of VME Architecture Should have some of the following: Experience of IST Execution and Defect Triage Background on legacy / Pensions IT Systems Pensions Strategy Computer System VME transformation experience Visual Studio/Eclipse SQL GIT OPSTRAT Middleware OSMP Platform Agile/Scrum/Kanban Oracle RDBMS Data Dictionary Emulation SCL Emulator (TSCL) Red Hat Linux Batch Architecture Integration Solutions Oracle Tuxedo If this role is of interest, please apply online and I will be in touch.
