Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a graduate looking to build experience of working with young people in an educational setting. You will spend an academic year with our busy support department, working alongside an experienced team. The programme will include time spent in different areas of support within the college which will include pastoral support, dyslexia provision, counselling, study support and Autism support. You will be ready to work in a fast-paced college environment and willing to adapt to the changing needs of learners. You will be an enthusiastic self starter, who is keen to learn and develop new skills. You will work in all areas of disability support and maintain high expectations for our A Level students. You will be a team player with plenty of energy and a passion for supporting others to achieve their potential. Newcastle Sixth Form College focuses on academic qualifications with an emphasis on providing students with the qualifications they need to progress to University. Our department supports around a third of the learners. We pride ourselves on reducing barriers to learning and building supportive relationships with the students. We share ideas as a team and make sure we keep up to date with current research and information. NSFC attracts students from over 100 schools from Newcastle and across the North East and student progress is in the top 25% nationally.
