Overview
I treat more than just symptoms I am Care UK. Are you a GP working in a community setting looking for a new challenge? We currently have 2 opportunities for salaried GP's to join our team at HMP Wormwood Scrubs on a part-time basis. HMP Wormwood Scrubs is a Category B men's prison, located in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, West London. Within a 10 minute walk of East Acton underground station on the Central Line. Located on Du Cane Road, the site is accessible by regular bus routes and there is also a small staff car park opposite the prison. About Care UK Care UK is the Health in Justice market leader, providing healthcare services to offenders across the country. Our model of care is our Wellbeing Approach – an integrated, comprehensive approach in recognition of the fact prisoners are a socially-excluded group with healthcare needs which are complex and often associated with poor outcomes. It adopts the premise no single health/wellbeing factor can be taken in isolation of other motivational issues which might impact a person’s care. We’ll utilise the wellbeing model to put patient care and safety at the heart of everything we do through assessing prisoners across 5 domains of; physical and mental wellbeing, substance misuse, relationships and resettlement. The patient and clinician complete a wellbeing wheel assessment to set goals and outcomes in partnership. The patient will complete the assessment and any needs identified will be met by our fully integrated service delivery team. What will you be doing? As a member of the Multi-Disciplinary Team, the General Practitioner will provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patient’s requirements and make timely decisions regarding future management. You will also provide a highly specialist resource to other healthcare staff, patients and carers and have active involvement in clinical governance/effectiveness activities. It doesn’t end there; you will have a chance to become actively involved in audit, teaching and training (management of substance misuse and/or blood borne viruses) as well as helping us to adapt the service to the ever-changing needs of the patients. Furthermore should you wish there are plenty of opportunities for extra shifts either at Wormwood Scrubs or one of our other healthcare sites - prisons or Out of Hours. More information The salary for this roles is up to £96,900 FTE per annum (pro-rata) dependent on experience. We will also consider relocation expenses, which can be discussed at interview. We have two opportunities available - one offering 19 hours per week and the other 8.5 hours per week.
