POSITION: Permanent Clinical Specialist/Lead - Hand Therapy SALARY: £40,000-£50,000 (dependent on skills and experience) LOCATION: London Full-time Position Job Description The post holder will play an active role in staff training and the provision of treatment for outpatients with upper limb disorders. The post holder will work closely with Hand Unit Manager to develop services, core competencies and quality initiatives based on evidence based practice. This service will be provided within the context of a multidisciplinary team. The post holder will take a lead role in the clinical provision, administration, organisation, liaison, marketing and strategic development of the London Hand and Wrist Unit (LHWU). The post holder will oversee rosters and workforce planning and support effective budget management. This is a permanent full time role working 37.5hrs per week The salary being offered is competitive and will be dependent upon skills and experience. Duties & Responsibilities 1. Play an active role in providing clinical excellence and quality activities related to assessment and treatment of patients in the Hand Therapy service at the London Hand and Wrist Unit, ensuring that quality, and activity targets are met. 2. Enable Hand Therapists to deliver high quality treatment to patients in line with the strategic direction advised by HCA, each of the four hospitals and Hand Unit Manager including implementing quality initiatives and quality assurance methods. 3. To maintain a clinical case load and provide high quality treatment to patients with upper limb conditions. 4. To lead the clinical team in group and individual development and provide training, mentoring and clinical support where necessary. 5. Support the Hand Unit Manager by providing leadership to the team, overseeing rosters and workforce planning and facilitating budget management.
