Overview

This role is for an Integration Test and Trial Engineer (IT&T) who is part of a team responsible for various testing activities for a Military System. Carries out general testing activities on application or infrastructure projects, programs or services to supply which enables stakeholders to make informed decisions around progress to the next development stage or release. Understands a given requirement and can create use cases, design test cases, create test scripts and establish associated data in response to that requirement. Execution of test cases; recording and analysing results to provide reports on test activities and results to identify test incidents and risks and assisting in incident resolution. Can work independently or as a member of a team with limited supervision under the direction of a Test Manager. Education / Experience: Mandatory Certified Testing background (ISEB/ISTQB) with a minimum of 5 years’ experience Familiarisation with either Land or Maritime Deployed Systems Familiarisation in Microsoft and Linux environments; Architecture, Security, and Services Experience in the verification of COTs and MOTs infrastructure and applications. A clear understanding of testing within infrastructure project, and verification of application installation. Familiarisation of testing within a virtual environment. A understanding of testing across the OSI layers. SC/DV Clearance Self-motivated demonstrating commitment, rigour, flexibility and integrity. Team player with a positive outlook. Desirable: ITIL V3 SAFe or Agile Foundation o A good understanding of test and integration of Military Enterprise Deployed Systems, i.e Defence Information Infrastructure (DII) o Magpie o BCIP o Falcon o Skynet A sound understanding of MOTS applications and infrastructures, Inc. Networks and System Management. Experience within both sequential and iterative (SAFe) environments Experience in development toolsets; JIRA, Test Rails, BITBucket, Jenkins, Wireshark, and standard Microsoft Office tooling.
