Role: Systems Engineer Salary: Will consider applications up to £45k Location: Hemel Hempstead Sector: Defence An exciting Systems Engineering vacancy within a world leading defence company has become available in Hemel Hempstead. This opportunity is to join the R&D department developing state of the art detection technologies working from concept through to production. Due to recent project wins and a need to expand the department they are looking for a range of R&D focused Systems Engineers to work on a wide variety of new detection technology including the detection of explosives, chemical and narcotics. The Role: You will be involved in developing and using Systems Engineering skills to ensure the design team has a clear view of the design intent to satisfy customer and stakeholder needs. Activities listed below will give an insight into the role: Development of high quality, high demand products sold into a regulated environment Collaborate as a team member on multi-functional project teams, across multiple projects to deliver in a fast-moving development environment Developing system requirements based on appropriate technology using inputs from internal stakeholders, partners, collaborators and customers that is consistent, complete, correct, and operationally defined. Define tests, simulate, test & record results to verify the system / sub system requirements have been met Due to the broad nature of this position it is essential that you are flexible and can adapt to challenging situations. You will also be required to have familiarity traditional systems engineering tools such as: DOORS, Rhapsody etc. Requirements: Solid industry experience with implementing principles and building prototypes Appreciation of systems engineering processes.
