Overview

Role- Service Desk Engineers Location- Reading Term- Contract- 3 months Day Rate- up to £220 Per Day (Depending on role) I am looking for 1st and 2nd Line Service Desk Engineers to join my client based in Reading. This is a 3-month contract to my client with an increased workload within the IT department due to the sudden internal changes with remote workers. As the Service Desk Engineer, you will join one of two teams, 1st or 2nd Line, depending on experience. On the 1st line team, you will remotely support users, logging any issues, troubleshooting to resolve and escalating to the 2nd Line if needed. The 2nd line team will deal with more break fix issues, dealing with basic network and server problems whilst supporting software applications. The Service Desk Engineer will have some of the following attributes: Experience working as a Service Desk Engineer on either a 1st or 2nd Line level Strong knowledge of IT hardware Experience troubleshooting to resolve issues Active Directory exposure with DNS, DHCP Office 365 and Exchange Understanding of Virtualisation - VMWare/Hyper-V Previous experience working with Windows Servers Understanding of networking fundamentals- Switches, Routers, Firewalls, TCP/IP Experience troubleshooting to resolve issues Been exposed to cloud technologies- Azure, AWS etc would be beneficial As the Service Desk Engineer your main duties will include: Re build and set up laptops and desktops Providing internal IT support to the company’s internal users including remote assistance. Maintenance and support of hardware and software used by the company, including Windows, desktops, laptops, tablets devices and mobile phones Providing a point of email and phone contact for internal teams Participating in team projects such as desktop rollouts/updates or software installation Maintain internal systems Troubleshoot to resolve issues related to hardware and software Monitor networks Escalate to 3rd Line when necessary As the Service Desk Engineer your benefits will include: Free onsite parking Remote working available Potential opportunity for the contract to extend or join on a permanent basis If you are interested in this Service Desk Engineer position based in Reading, please apply with an up to date CV to
