PLC Commissioning Engineer (site based) THE COMPANY My client is a global leader in power and automation technologies operating in more than 100 countries worldwide and employing 150,000 people. In the UK they operate from more than 20 locations nationally and employ over 3,000 people. THE ROLE This purpose of this role is the commissioning of robotic material handling systems on customers sites. Responsibilities in this role are to ensure the efficient and cost-effective completion of commissioning activities, in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements. The desire and ability to travel and work away for extended periods (up to 80% travel) is a key requirement of the role through the commissioning, site acceptance and handover phases of projects. On small systems you will be directly responsible for the installation and debugging of controls hardware and software, but additionally on larger systems you will also be required to lead, coordinate and direct a team of subcontractors to achieve the same. During gaps between site activates you may be required to contribute to the continuous improvement of software, documentation and procedures.
