Assistant Fund Manager
Overview
Qualified chartered surveyor with at least two years relevant post qualification experience. Experience on negotiating, lease renewals and managing property managers is preferable, as well as past involvement in investment transactions and valuations. Clients are predominantly discretionary pension funds. Knowledge of the institutional market is valuable but not essential Responsibilities Assist with the quarterly/ annual investor reporting Prepare annual business plans for each asset Assist with the sourcing investment opportunities Undertake detailed due diligence of new purchases Assist fund manager to optimise performance of each asset, and overall portfolios Liaise with the firm's independent valuers, managing agents, solicitors etc. Identify and execute value-add opportunities across the assets. Manage third parties on rent reviews, lease renewals and void re-lettings and to maximise income or action where possible. Oversee day-to-day property management function Develop and maintain good relationships with tenants. It is essential that he/she will be an active, fun-to-be-with team player. This is a small office and the candidate must be willing to 'roll up their sleeves' like everyone else. We are looking for a candidate with great communication skills and self-confidence. The successful candidate must be able to contribute to the firm's research publications. Assets under management are located across the UK. A willingness to travel at short notice and a valid UK driver's licence is pre-requisite. Knowledge of Argus software would be helpful. In any event, the candidate will need to be competent at appraisal and performance measurement analysis Strong Excel skills are preferred. The candidate will report directly to a partner but needs to be a 'self-starter'. Remuneration will be commensurate with the candidate's experience/skills.
