Overview
My client is a specialist software developer with a 30 year history of delivering quality applications and is looking for a motivated Oracle DBA to join and support their market-leading software products whilst broadening your own technical and commercial skills. Working as part of a small team, this is a varied role which will enable you to develop a wide range of skills. You will undertake a blend of project work, application support and internal server and storage maintenance including the following: Support and administration of Oracle 19 databases in our development and test environments including performance tuning, database design etc Support and maintenance of IBM Servers (with UNIX AIX 7) and storage solutions Providing technical support to our internal software development teams and external customers Assisting with the software build and release process and Investigating, planning and implementing new hardware and software technologies and applications. We would like to hear from you if you have: At least 6-18 months’ experience of database administration (preferably Oracle) Exposure to shell scripting A logical and efficient approach to your work and are solutions focused A focus on quality and long-term customer satisfaction and The motivation to learn and develop your skills. Experience of UNIX administration and exposure to Oracle Middleware, Enterprise Manager, Oracle patching and version management would be advantageous but is not essential. We are keen to recruit someone who has a desire to learn and gain valuable commercial experience underpinned by relevant professional training. In return, we offer a competitive salary (£26,000 to £33,000 per annum depending on experience) plus an excellent benefits package including discretionary annual bonus, generous non-contributory pension scheme, private health care and 26 days’ annual leave (plus bank holidays). The role will involve standard office hours (typically 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday) and is based in Daventry, Northamptonshire.
