My NHS client are seeking a suitably experienced, skilled and dynamic individual to work across Pathology departments in a Administration role. You will take a lead role in maintaining the business administration of the two laboratories, and importantly sustaining good quality accredited services during an incredibly busy period for a department Client Details My NHS Medical and nursing client are looking for future permanent member of the team who have ideally secretarial/ administrative experience within the NHS/ laboratory or pathology related area who can help them run as efficiently as possible during an unprecedented period. Based in Milton Keynes this is a Key worker role and will develop into a permanent position with the right candidate able to secure a permanent role on day 1 should they meet the below criteria and experience outlined. Description PA/ NHS Business Administrator Main duties and responsibilities Secretarial Duties To provide a comprehensive, effective and high-quality business admin support to the Laboratory manager and the deputy. This includes dealing with telephone and postal enquiries both routine and urgent - directing/delegating tasks and taking appropriate action to ensure that appropriate action is taken in the absence of the Laboratory Manager Assisting with relevant administrative duties as necessary including effective diary management. Using electronic diary system. Arranging and attending meetings, booking venue, drafting agenda, taking and transcribing minutes, sometimes of a complex nature, and distributing all relevant documentation within specified deadlines. Assist with production and filing hard copy laboratory procedures and documents General HR Administration. Assist on recruitment within the pathology departments To keep files and database up to date in relation to sickness/annual leave/absence. Provide new starter (staff) inductions To set up and maintain data-based records on Excel and provide spreadsheet information in accordance with the needs of the Laboratory Manager. Keeping accurate logs of all HR, Payroll and lab reports/data Data management of confidential information Liaise with suppliers to provide backing data for non-PO invoices Other Secretarial services Profile PA/ NHS Business Administrator experience, skills and attributes; Relevant secretarial/administration experience working within a clinical department. Knowledge of relevant Acts i.e. Data Protection/awareness of patient confidentiality. Experience of handling telephone calls (of sensitive nature) Experience of working within the NHS. In depth understanding of NHS performance targets internal and external. Knowledge of medical terminology. Effective verbal and written communication. Good telephone manner. Evidence of working under pressure Good administrative skills. Good customer service skills. Good attention to detail. Ability to make decisions using own initiative.
