Base Location: Inverness Salary: £52,800 - £79,200 depending on skills and experience car/cash allowance annual bonus | Relocation allowance will be considered Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time with Flexible working patterns available | 37 hours About the Department Transmission operates under licence as Scottish Hydro Electric (SHE) Transmission plc, responsible for the transmission of electricity in the north of Scotland. We own and maintain the 132kV, 275kV and 400kV electricity transmission network in our licence area. Our network comprises of underground cables, overhead wooden poles, steel towers and electricity substations, and it extends over a quarter of the UK land mass across some of its most challenging terrain. What is the Role? SHE Transmission is looking to recruit Lead Project Managers for the delivery of the Shetland HVDC Link Project from April 2020. The positions present an opportunity to join the Transmission business in SSE at a time of rapid growth as we look to connect Shetland with the mainland grid for the first time. As Lead Delivery Interface Manager, you'll report directly to the Project Director and be responsible for the efficient management of all interfaces associated with the multi-contract delivery strategy, including: - Application of BIM across all contractors; - Design interfaces between HVDC, AC, civils and cables contracts; - Proactive management of construction interfaces to minimise risk to SHE Transmission during delivery - Major input to the commissioning process to meet SHE Transmission and our generator customer requirements - Lead on the CDM interfaces in design and in construction and Commercial and contractual interface management. Frequent travel to Shetland and Noss Head (Wick) will be required along with occasional travel to SHE Transmission offices in Perth, Inverness and Glasgow. What do I need? This is a unique role and requires the ability to guide the senior leaders of the HVDC, AC, civils and cables contracts through the project taking cognisance of the overall interface picture. The ideal candidate will have experience in both major project delivery (preferably in the electricity transmission sector) and a strong background in contract negotiations at portfolio or programme level. Previous leadership experience of multi-contract design and delivery projects is a must. Direct reports will include a design interface manager, interface engineers and a BIM team. The role requires close working with the delivery project managers, engineers and commercial managers across the works packages that make up the delivery of the project. External relationships with the SHE Transmission delivery contractors will be key to the success of the role. Relocation SSE Transmission will support anyone relocating permanently for this position. However, we can also consider and support a weekly commute (hotel and travel costs).
