Overview

To support significant growth and expansion onto a second site in 2020, full time, permanent EV Powertrain Test Engineers of various levels are required to join their team in Milton Keynes. The facility consists of 32 self-contained test cells specified to support a wide variety of fired engine, transmission, full powertrain and high voltage hybrid and EV systems testing. The facility has benefitted from major recent investments delivering some of the highest specification test cells available in Europe today. These investments have also introduced hybrid powertrain dynamic drive cycle emissions test capability, EV axle module test, EV eMachine test and high voltage electrical systems test capability. The focus of the EV Test Engineer will be to operate the automotive EV Powertrain test rigs for external clients, including leading project set-up & de-bugging, data acquisition and processing, and interfacing with our customers. Applicants will be expected to be motivated and willing to take on new challenges and learning within the rapidly evolving EV arena. The role will be based in Milton Keynes, a city at the forefront of Electric Vehicle infrastructure development, situated in the heart of the Oxford-Cambridge technology corridor and with excellent road and rail access between London and the Midlands. Normal working pattern is 37 hours Monday - Friday. Flexible working hours are required along with some additional overtime to support customer demands and deadlines. ABOUT YOU - Degree in an engineering related discipline or equivalent is desirable, but extensive experience will also be considered - IT Literacy (Microsoft packages) required to maintain clear and traceable documentation - Excellent communication skills - Highly energised mind-set with willingness and desire to learn and adapt individually - Motivated, self-starter - EV powertrain, battery, hybrid systems knowledge - Experience of EV powertrain or hybrid system test operations - Knowledge of Alternating Current (AC) and Direct Current (DC) electrical systems The company offers a great opportunity for personal development through education and training opportunities, professional memberships and chartership support, plus Senior Management support and mentoring.
