Overview

WAKING NIGHT SUPPORT WORKERS - Yewdale, Willingham £9.70ph Yewdale has a welcoming and friendly environment that supports adults with learning difficulties and some complex needs and challenging behaviours. It is set in 13 acres of farm land and has recently expanded with an additional single service which means we are now needing to grow our team. The shift pattern is - Waking night shifts 21:30-07:30. The staffing team at Yewdale Farm support 9 gentlemen, aged between 47 - 62, who have learning and physical disabilities, autism, epilepsy and some challenging behaviour. The Service Users here are incredibly active and really enjoy their environment; taking care of the animals, horticulture, picnics, picking fruit from their orchards, kite flying, arts and crafts, computer courses and also cookery. Quite often they enjoy strolling to their local village to visit the auctions, tea rooms and make use of their local conveniences. Benefits of being a CareTech Employee: We offer full time permanent contract We provide a full induction programme to Care Certificate Standards DBS check paid by CareTech prior to starting with us SAYE Scheme Main Duties and Responsibilities: To participate in the day-to-day implementation of individual support plans and activities within a challenging environment To maintain effective communication and liaison with service users, families and other whilst respecting appropriate confidentiality To support service users with the preparation of meals, laundry duties, cleaning and social events To maintain accurate notes and records as and when required To work as part of a team to provide high quality care. The successful candidate will have: Due to the rural location of this service, car drivers are advisable NVQ in Health and Social Care or be willing to work towards Experience in supporting adults with challenging behaviour, learning disabilities and/or mental health issues The ability to keep calm under pressure Confidence to work alone and as part of a team Excellent communication skills The passion to work with vulnerable Adults The desire and commitment to achieve high standards of safeguarding.
