Overview
I am currently recruiting for a full-time Payroll Officer to ensure that both weekly and monthly payrolls are completed in an accurate and timely manner. The Payroll Officer will be expected to be able to interrogate the systems to resolve general queries, process all payments and calculations required to successfully operate payroll and adhere to appropriate tax and relevant legislation. Duties & Responsibilities Payroll Support; manage queries from Managers and Employees Provide advice, guidance and support to HR department regarding SSP,SMP NI and Tax etc. Issuing P45s and other tax related forms. Producing payroll letters/correspondence Checking of data and reconciling data when required Production and distributions of reports Check Vendor request templates as required Adhere to payroll policies and procedures and complies with relevant laws and follows General Data Protection regulations Knowledge of Pension auto-enrolment rules Manual payroll data as required, calculating manual payments, bonus, allowances etc as required as well as processing manual adjustments on the system Processing Maternity Leave and other absences Complete the required Audit Controls Administer Court Orders/ Third Party Deductions Skills & Experience Two years’ experience in payroll processing Experience of SSP/SMP/SPP and associated HMRC rules Confident with numbers Excellent communication skills High level attention to detail Good computer skills Basic excel skills Ability to work to deadlines Experience with SD Workx (desirable) Experience with workday (desirable)
