Overview
Individual Needs Assistant Job needed for the Eastbourne Area. Your new company A large primary school located on the outskirts of Eastbourne, close to good transport links. The school benefits from having a supportive and forward thinking senior management team. The school are looking for someone who is proactive and able to work independently whilst differentiate work and making it more accessible to the individual child. Your new role You will work individually with a pupil who requires additional support in a one on one capacity. You will assist the classroom teacher, developing and implementing an IEP. You will assess, monitor and give feedback, whilst offering encouragement and motivation. You will support the pupil both inside and outside of the classroom as well as accompanying them on educational visits. You will ensure that the pupil is understanding all verbal and written instructions and is staying on track with tasks. You will also help to facilitate inclusion and enable them to integrate with their peers. What you'll need to succeed It is essential that you have recent and relevant classroom-based experience, previously following the UK National Curriculum. It is essential that you have previous and relevant experience with pupils with SEND Needs. You will have strong communication skills and be able to quickly build a good rapport with pupils. You will be a team player as you will be working closely with the classroom teacher and the pupil's parents/carers each day. You will be an individual who is highly organised, creative and adaptive, being able to think on your feet to enable the pupil to overcome any barriers to learning. You will have strong English, Maths and IT skills which you will be able to use in a classroom setting.
