Overview
Mechanical Checker, Warrington, To £33.96 per hour Ltd Our client, a nuclear engineering company urgently require an experienced Mechanical Designer with experience of checking design drawings. You will provide cost/timescale information and progress reporting plus provide design solutions for the nuclear industry and coordinate the production of: Design Schemes Design Proposal Drawings Detail Drawings General Assemblies Functional Specifications/ Functional Requirements Documents Technical Reports and Studies Design Justification Reports Identify or respond to task variations through formal change control. Take responsibility for delivery of single-discipline work package to programme, budget and required quality. Knowledge required for checking. The checker will be required to have a sound mechanical background with an understanding of mechanical drawings which will include small/large fabrications with weld symbols on. Machine parts with limits and fits on, and also including geometrical tolerancing. Day to day liaise with Designer, Stress engineers, CE&I and Lead Engineers. The equipment to be checked will be mechanical handling of cans and filling of cans, there will be transfer conveyors, drag chains, mechanical drives, rotational equipment, tipping equipment, lifting equipment and shield doors Familiar with BS 8888-2017 Technical Product and Documentation and Specification. Basic understanding of Geometrical Tolerancing to BS EN ISO 1101-2017 Familiar with BS EN ISO 2553-2013 Welding Symbolic Representation on drawings - welded joints. ISO code system for tolerances on linear sizes BS EN ISO 286-1:201(limits and fits). Having Nuclear experience not essential but would be advantages. For this position you will undergo BPSS clearance which can take 2 weeks before starting work.
