Overview

A Group Financial Accountant is required for a prestigious, international organisation based in Central London. Reporting to, and working closely with the Financial Accounting Lead, the Group Financial Accountant will be responsible in helping drive the continuous improvement of intercompany balance management. This will involve a focus on day to day operational tasks but will also provide the opportunity to work on, and implement, projects related to intercompany transactions and balances. The successful candidate will gain a strong understanding of the interaction between the different entities within the group, and the structure itself. Some of the key responsibilities will include: Responsibility for the monthly review of intercompany balances and production of the global intercompany reconciliation matrix including resolution of any differences before month end close; Maintain, review, develop and document group accounting policies as they relate to intercompany transactions and balances and ensure the appropriate documentation is in place. Assist with the development of group accounting and reporting systems as they relate to intercompany balances and transactions, working closely with the Global Partnership and Financial Accounting Lead, Global Controller and Finance System Support team. Provide assistance in the reconciliation of historical balances and settlement thereof. Management of continuing intercompany balances: Analysing and approving intercompany transactions in line with group policy Managing settlement of balances in line with group policy. Monthly reconciliations and liaising with overseas offices. Generating intercompany bills. Settling intercompany disputes. Development of exception reporting for Review exchange rate gains/losses. Experience required: Qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA or equivalent) A minimum of 2-3 years' experience working outside of practice The ideal candidate will have experience in management of intercompany balances in a large international business. Experience of working within a multi-currency and multi-jurisdictional environment Advanced Excel skills Must be self-motivated, highly organised and accurate with strong attention to detail and be able to work with minimal supervision.
