Overview
A ambitious and progressive Insurer is seeking a proven Commercial Insurance Renewals Underwriter to be based in their Birmingham City Centre office. Reporting into the Branch Underwriting Manager, you will work closely with the Broker Development Managers and New Business Underwriting team to ensure that brokers receive an optimum level of service. Your role will be to maximise renewal retention from your allocated broker panel, as well as dealing with MTA's and general broker enquiries. Candidates with strong Commercial Combined, and ideally some Motor Trade or Fleet commercial underwriting experience will be considered for this opportunity. Cases sizes will range from £1,500 to £100,000 GWP, with the average branch case size in the £5,000 to £25,000 GWP bracket. Proven broker relationship management, negotiation, attention to detail and team working skills are key in order to be successful in this busy environment. Once you have proven yourself in this role, there is the opportunity to move into New Business Underwriting or BDM roles in the branch, as well as more diverse roles nationally within the wider group.
