Mechanical Design Engineer - Salary £25,000 - £40,000 DOE Plus Benefits Based: West Sussex Our client is a global expert in the design and supply of large Fired Heaters into the Oil, Gas, Petrochemical and Energy Industries. They are searching for a Mechanical Design Engineer to work within their UK drawing office. Candidates will need to be proficient in Solid Works . Job Responsibilities: Responsible for problem-solving and finding solutions to sometimes complex design problems Providing concept drawings of proposed solutions using AutoCAD and Solidworks Explaining technical solutions to non-technical customers Producing 3D designs, 2D assembly and detail drawings, including parts list and costing Liaising with manufacturing Engineers to ensure parts can be manufactured Liaising with the design team in Malaysia and with Project Engineers on projects Preparation of RFQ’s, production tickets and first article approval forms Providing technical assistance to other members of staff Research new materials and methods of development Organise and maintain existing engineering records Utilising TEKLA for the structural design Candidate Skills and Experience Required: Ideally Degree educated in Mechanical Engineering or design engineering with 3-5 years’ experience in mechanical design Good AutoCAD and Solidworks experience gained in a practical environment Ideal candidates will have experience of using TEKLA although this is not essential A practical technical background relevant to the position Attention to detail and willingness to complete projects, impeccable attention to detail Ability to plan, schedule, coordinate and problem solve effectively Use specialised software to create models and drawings of products In return for your hard work our Client offers a good working and team environment, and the chance to work on exciting global projects.
