Overview
Churchill Howard has been engaged to recruit a Group Financial Accountant for a fast growing and successful FTSE business based in Birmingham. This is a really varied role with exposure to a number of different areas of finance and would make a great 1st or 2nd move out of practice. The Group Financial Accountant is a critical hire needed to ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly, half yearly and annual consolidated reporting to the board and shareholders. Responsibilities will include: - Consolidation of monthly results and forecasts from divisional businesses; - Preparation of monthly board reports, covering monthly P&Ls and cash flow statements; - Group consolidation journal postings, identifying and helping to resolve any intercompany differences; - Assist with the production of the financial statements for the Group Annual Report and interim reports; - Supporting divisional finance teams in meeting their financial reporting requirements; - Assist with the production of technical papers detailing accounting treatments for any one off or complex accounting issues arising; - Assist with identifying and implementing opportunities for process improvements. Experience, knowledge and qualifications required: - Professional accounting qualification (ideally ACA) with at least one to two years post qualification experience gained in practice or industry; - Understanding or experience of large group consolidations and their reporting; - Strong communication skills to interact with and present financial information to senior personnel; - Motivated to drive continuous improvement in processes; - Ability to thrive in a deadline driven and sometimes pressurised environment; - Strong Excel skills and ability to manipulate and analyse large data sets.
