Overview
Senior Designer - (non Local) Barrow - £28.00 ltd £6.00 Travel Allowance 22 Months Advantage Resourcing are currently looking for a number of senior design engineers for a world leading defence organisation based in Barrow in the Production Engineering Department. This role is a 22 month contract paying £28.00 per hour. If you are a non-local worker, you will receive an extra £6 per hour travel allowance. You will be responsible for developing and producing CAD models, drawings and other Technical Outputs consistent with the contractual requirements to meet target dates and budget demands. Your responsibilities Develop and draw 2D Diagrams, utilising the relevant tool-set. 3D Integration within the Product Model Produce other technical outputs consistent with contractual requirements Provide and produce relevant calculations. Produce drawing outputs from the 3D Model Perform self-verification of own work Cross checking of peers and subordinates work Produce Process Standards Your Profile HNC or equivalent qualification or experience in mechanical engineering, structural engineering or naval architecture discipline Design experience gained in one of the following areas: submarines, surface vessels, oil & gas or offshore Experience or familiarity with FORAN package (or transferable packages CADDS5 or Catia V5 or V6) DESIRABLE: Knowledge of one or more of the following: Shipbuilding experience preferred Ideally you will have experience of Hull and Structural Design Main hull, Decks, Bulkheads, Tanks, Walkways/ platforms LOLER Lifting, Handling and shipping of structures and modules Jig design and development Blocking arrangement Transport arrangement of structures and modules If you believe you have the right skill set for the position apply immediately or for a confidential conversation regarding this role please contact Lindsay Cunliffe on Advantage Resourcing is a service driven recruitment consultancy.
