Senior Designer - Electrical
Overview
Electrical Designers Would you like to be part of the team that produces 3D models and 2D drawing outputs of various electrical systems? We currently have a number of opportunities Electrical Designers at varying levels at our site in Barrow in Furness. As an Electrical Designer, you will be working in the Electrical Designer discipline carrying out 3D modelling (design and integration) of various electrical systems and also compartment integration of electrical equipment. The role also includes work to produce a bill of materials for your specific area in the submarine design. As an Electrical Designer, you will report into a Project Leader and you will be working in a team of other Designers at various levels of experience who will support you in your development. This role will provide you with the challenge of working with the stakeholder group to drive the successful resolution of design vs spatial problems. Future career progression could include Principal Designer or leadership roles within the team. These roles also offer paid overtime, subject to business requirements. Your main responsibilities as an Electrical Designer: Using the CAD tool to produce 3D models of electrical systems and equipment integration Producing 2D drawing outputs to a demanding schedule to support the manufacturing and production teams in product build and delivery Maturing the 3D model and producing 2D drawing outputs Developing and maintaining working relationships with interfacing teams and team members Working with the client to produce an integrated design that meets their expectations and agreed set of requirements Your skills and qualifications as an Electrical Designer: Essentials: Previous experience as an Electrical Designer/Draughtsperson Experience and knowledge of a CAD toolset Experience of working with various stakeholders Desirables: Submarine or shipbuilding product knowledge from an electrical discipline perspective Understanding of CAD modelling techniques What we're looking for in you: A proactive and resolute approach to problem solving will be key to success in this role.
