NEW OPPORTUNITY Team Manager – Children’s Services We are currently working with a Public Sector client who is looking for a Team Manager to join the Care Management Team to cover maternity leave for a period of 12 months. The client has stated that they are needing someone who has Care Management experience. The purpose of the role will be to manage and develop the operational functions within the divisional area of responsibility to meet departmental and corporate policies and objectives. Also to actively contribute and, where necessary, lead in strategic planning activity at a number of levels. Main Duties & Responsibilities: To provide clear management of and direction for the team/unit To be responsible for the development and implementation of team/unit business plans and to be accountable for the delivery of services accordingly To ensure the work of the team is consistent with National Social Work and Social Care objectives, including National Priorities Guidance and National or Regional Standards To effectively manage all team/unit budgets, as delegated by the Divisional Manager, to ensure that identified objectives are met To be responsible for the management of human resource activity within the team/unit To ensure that the Directorate is represented to the community in a way that encourages a better understanding of the Directorate’s work To act as a facilitating channel of communication between the team/unit and other parts of the Directorate To commit to effective means of service user consultation, including a positive and responsive approach to managing complaints To contribute to management information systems e.g. workload management To project manage and lead the implementation of new schemes and initiatives Key requirements: Appropriate post-qualifying experience in children and families setting Experience of casework supervision as a supervisor A clear up to date and detailed knowledge of recent legislation, relating to children, and wider social work impacts Post qualification short course/conference training in related matters e.g. recruitment and selection, supervisory techniques, first line management, equal opportunities Recognised Social work qualification Duration: 12 month contract to cover maternity leave Start Date: The approximate start date is set to be 1st May 2020 Rate: £39.07p/d umbrella Inside IR35 For more information on this or other Local Gov Jobs, please in the first instance email your CV to Natalie Cox on the Midlands Local Gov Team at or call Venn Group is an equal opportunities employment business and employment agency and welcomes applications from all candidates.
