Assistant Fund Accountant - Private Equity Company Profile My client is an international investor in private equity, infrastructure and real assets based in central London. Purpose of Position Your responsibilities will be set out by the respective fund accountant, who will assign and manage your daily responsibilities. The role reports into the Senior Fund Accountant. You will be responsible for ensuring cash payments and receipts are processed in a timely and accurate manner, assist with ensuring general internal and external queries are addressed and filed, and assist with general accounting tasks of the funds and the managing business. Responsibilities Preparation/update of cash forecasts based on fees, expenses, investment and investor drawdowns and distributions Production of weekly and monthly Bank Reconciliations Production of monthly custody reconciliations Managing and making payments across the funds Book-keeping for Fund and Direct entities Collation of quarterly valuations Maintenance of the Finance group email and responding to queries Preparation of investor drawdowns and distributions Assistance with regulatory reporting Assistance with tax reporting Assistance with preparing information required for audit Various ad-hoc tasks Accountabilities Ensure adequate cash is available across the funds to meet investment needs Ensure payments are made in accordance with procedures to meet the drawdowns of investments Ensure the ledger is kept up to date weekly Ensure queries are appropriately responded to and escalated where necessary, and Collect and chase valuation and taxation information to meet specific operational needs for over 300 investments Person Specification 1-2 years post degree experience in a Financial Services business or an Accountancy practice Educated to degree level (or equivalent experience) Previous accounting/bookkeeping experience Previous Cash Management (forecasting, and production of reconciliations) experience Understanding of need for financial control environment Experience of dealing with high volumes of work Experience on accounting software, Investran preferable Experience at multi-tasking Enhanced organisational skills Suitable Candidate Profile A confident and committed individual, with keen attention to detail and a disciplined and organised approach to work. You will need to ensure a large number and variety of tasks and responsibilities are completed within tight timescales, therefore, the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively is key. Accuracy is vital in this role as well as being a quick learner. A willingness to learn and develop within an accounting environment and to study towards a professional accounting qualification is required. The ideal candidate should also have an interest in the financial services industry, specifically private equity.
