Overview
Our client is an engineering company working to support the development of a nuclear power station being built in the South West of England. Our client is seeking to hire a Head of Planning for this development Project, based in their Bristol office. The position will deliver all aspects of Planning for the Mechanical, Electrical and HVAC works on the project. This includes managing the planning team. The position will be responsible for: Leading and managing an effective planning function, supporting projects and operations, to deliver the long term business objectives Responsible for integrating all delivery partner, strategic supplier and bulk material schedules Provides trend analysis and alternative workaround strategies to ensure schedule compliance Understanding the overall project strategy and converting this into a strategic plan for the planning function Coordinating schedule risk analysis of internally generated and contractor generated schedules Generating high-quality project reports and presentations as required by key stakeholders including joint venture partners You will be experienced Planning Manager who has worked on large ($1bn) projects and demonstrate experience and skills in the following areas: Experience working in construction sites within / Rail / Nuclear / Power / Water sectors Ability to collaborate and interface diverse work streams to an integrated project plan Advanced level of skill in Primavera P6, MS Excel and proficient with MS Office Proven Risk Management and Change Management capability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with diverse business drivers and variables Proven team leadership skills including coaching and mentoring Stakeholder management skills to work with joint venture partners, project teams and contractors Highly effective communication, influencing and interpersonal skills; proven track record working collaboratively and at being able to build consensus but also able to effectively and constructively challenge Our client is committed to fostering a culture where all individuals are treated fairly and respectfully and everyone has equal access to opportunities and resources to enable them to contribute to the organisation's overall success.
