Careers that Change Lives A new exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Medical Science Advisor & Gynaecological Health Lead EMEA to join our MITG (Minimally Invasive Therapies Group) EMEA team. In this role you will work closely with the UK&I and EMEA Commercial and Marketing organizations to lead the execution of the medical-scientific programmes and the medical education events related to the MITG portfolio in UK&I as well as the Gynaecological Health procedures in EMEA (Europe, Middle-Est and Africa). You will report to Medical Affairs EMEA Manager Surgical Innovation. Within the division Minimally Invasive Therapies Group (MITG) who sells surgical devices mainly dedicated to laparoscopic procedures, the Medical Affairs Department interacts on a peer-to-peer level with the medical community and key thought leaders (KOLs). The scientific subjects are covered with objectivity, impartiality and integrity. This job can be fully home-based (UK&I), with a travel time (30-50%) mainly across UK & Ireland, but occasionally also Europe. Day in the Life Main responsibilities may include but are not limited to: • Serve as a liaison (MSL) between Medtronic MITG EMEA and key thought/opinion leaders (KOLs), the medical professional associations as well as health centres, partnering for the training of Health Care Professionals (HCPs). • Manage the creation of HCP Training & Education learning plans, curricula and training in close collaboration with key stakeholders. • Development and implementation of medical-scientific activities (symposia, clinical study group meetings, think tanks, advisory boards, research conferences, etc.). • Act as an expert resource concerning MITG products’ medical-scientific/clinical evidence for the Commercial organization and other internal stakeholders (Clinical Affairs, Health Economics, Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, etc.). • Identify clinical evidence gaps and support the EMEA Clinical Affairs department in the development and implementation of the MITG clinical research strategy and programmes. • Ensure that all applicable regulations, as well as all internal policies, and procedures are adhered to. Must Haves • Medical/scientific background (Master’s degree, PharmD, or PhD). • Ideally 5 years of experience in the Medical Device or Pharmaceutical or Industry. • Proven understanding of the UK, Irish and European healthcare systems. • Proven ability to implement medical-scientific action plans HCP training and education programmes. • Excellent organizational and project management skills. • Capability to understand, interpret, and communicate complex scientific information (medical statistics, scientific papers, etc.). • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and fluency in English. Nice to Haves • Knowledge of specific surgical procedures (Digestive surgery, Liver surgery, Urology, Thyroidectomy, etc.). • Previous experience within Gynaecology. • Marketing and/or Sales experience would be an asset. • Any other language spoken in Europe, Middle East or Africa would be beneficial.
