Overview

Our client a requires a security cleared Commercial Officer to join them on contract basis in Glasgow for an initial period of 6 months. Main Duties and Responsibilities: You will be working within a commercial team to deliver programme objectives whilst also supporting colleagues to achieve targets in relevant timescales Developing successful working relationships with external suppliers. Contributing to procurement and contract strategies Compiling and issuing tenders Administering contract amendments Providing commercial advice and guidance to the wider business Ensuring all procurement activities are within budget Ensuring all activity undertaken is in line with government regulations and best practice. Specific Tasks Management of sourcing activities, including: Understanding, advice and application of EU, UK and department procurement legislation, and preferably experience of construction / capital works procurement Effective cross-functional team working with Project Teams / Customers and stakeholder management Identification, management and mitigation of procurement risks Understand, inform and provide assurance in business case development and approvals management Lead and provide oversight of appropriate advertising and supplier selection Lead, co-ordinate and ensure compliance of development and management of bidders packs, supplier clarification, tender evaluation, contract awards and supplier debriefs. Contract management activities, including: Lead development and assure Contract Management Plan(s) Lead and control contract start up and transition to contract management Manage and oversee contract performance; measuring performance, identifying and managing risks, recording delivery and progress, contract reviews, managing contractual variations or amendments Person Specification You will have experience in; Carrying out a similar role in either a public sector or government department / organisation.
