Your new role The council is offering an exciting and fast-paced opportunity, for an Enforcement Officer to join their Planning team. The role encompasses a variety of day-to-day activities, including responsibility for a caseload of high-profile planning enforcement investigations (to the required standard within statutory timeframes), responsibility for ensuring planning fees and other sources of income are correctly calculated and processed for your caseload, and evaluation and sound recommendation on a varied complexity of planning enforcement cases. Successful candidates will also have the opportunity to defend the Council's decisions at appeals to the Planning Inspectorate, and engage in routine contact with applicants, agents and members of the public. What you'll need to succeed In order to be considered for the role, who you will need experience of providing a support function to a Planning Service - and possess sufficient knowledge and/or experience of work within Development Management/Planning Enforcement. Successful candidates will also need a first degree or equivalent that would allow entry onto an appropriate RTPI accredited postgraduate degree, and be eligible for Membership of RTPI or RICS (Planning and Development).
