An opportunity has arisen for a Infrastructure Designer to join their Head office in Southampton. Main Purpose Of The Role To be responsible for the delivery of Infrastructure designs and project consultancy to the rest of the organisation. To provide technical support to the engineering and operational teams. To provide technical consultation to the application teams. To support the continuous improvement of the Infrastructure function through operational and process improvement initiatives. Working closely with the engineering, support and architecture teams, this role will be required to support the delivery of both major and minor projects. The role is also expected to drive standards, produce the appropriate level of documentation and occasionally be hands-on. Core Technologies & Disciplines Enterprise Operating Systems VMware vSphere and related products HP Intel Hardware including HPE Blade technologies Microsoft Database Technologies Fundamental Windows Networking Scripting and Automation Monitoring and management Datacenter Management IT Security awareness GDPR awareness Candidates will have robust experience within an IT design function, with experience across multiple infrastructure disciplines. Candidates will have experience with successful medium to large Infrastructure projects, and experience of relevant project management disciplines. Candidates will be able to demonstrate a depth of knowledge and practical experience in a number of the following areas: Windows Server Operating Systems (2000 - 2016) Unix / Linux Operating Systems (RHEL, AIX) VMware vSphere Microsoft SQL Server and related products HP 3Par Storage Products Cisco Networking Products Incident, Problem and Change management Datacentre Management IT Security controls We are Deerfoot IT.
