Overview
The client Our financial giant and fintech – client are focusing on hiring for this key Card Solutions Architect based in the Northampton offices. They are focused on Capital Markets, Insurance, Payments & Cards, Wealth and Asset Management, and Risk Management & Compliance. The role Responsible for creating technology solutions to design and deliver business solutions in line with business needs and priorities and aligned to our client's card payments and IT strategies and architecture Work closely with Product Owners, Scrum master, other Solutions Designers, Technical Leads, developers and other team members to ensure that the outcomes delivered meet the business benefits and adhere to agreed standards, policies and design patterns. Define and drive car architecture vison and systems strategy. Lead, coach and mentor a small team of Solution Designers Provide ad-hoc technical consultancy and support (including impact assessments) as required The candidate Very strong, hands-on technical skills with broad knowledge of web technologies, methodologies and standards Experience of Credit Cards, Commercial Cards, Card Payments Product vendors e.g. TSYS API, Integration & Middleware products Very strong, hands-on technical skills with broad knowledge of web technologies, methodologies and standards A life-long learner who freely shares information and experience and seeks knowledge from others Familiar with integration and implementation issues and their architectural implications. Good knowledge of open source technologies and deep knowledge of web technologies, methodologies and standards Strong software development and application architecture experience Good knowledge of open source technologies Understanding of key considerations in Secure systems & software design, Resilience and High-Availability patterns for mission-critical applications, including multi-data-centre deployments Comfortable giving and receiving feedback at all levels Strong software development and application architecture experience Great communicator with the ability to explain technical decisions to the broader team and company at executive Passionate about and experienced at: working in agile environments; continual delivery techniques; testing Servant leader with a passion for personal mastery and continuous improvement Motivates, leads and encourages others regardless of position within chain of command and outside of direct reporting lines Demonstrate initiative and competence; support and encourage positive working behaviours in others Provides thought leadership and drive technology innovation Provides advice on supplier and cost options, ensures that the validity of the overall solution is fully represented and considered in any RFI/RFPs process, or in the creation and evaluation of proof of concept solutions Works with external partners and suppliers to deliver require business services and products Pro-actively researches relevant technologies and demonstrate their benefits by developing POCs where necessary Adding clarity to business requirements; challenges business requirements to ensure high quality candidate solutions are created Thinks outside of the box to support the business in delivering its strategic objectives rather than just responding to a pre-defined requests Has experience of and is conversant with migration from legacy estate delivery to cloud based solutions (e.g. AWS), DevOps practices and agile delivery methods Provides advice and guidance to business and technology stakeholders in shaping the portfolio of technology solutions to support business needs Contributes to broader architectural governance activities by participating in peer reviews for other solutions The benefits/ package Professional development.
