Solution Architect (Card Payments) Northampton 6 Months £475p/d Focus of your role: Responsible for creating technology solutions to design and deliver business solutions in line with business needs and priorities and aligned to our client's card payments and IT strategies and architecture Work closely with Product Owners, Scrum master, other Solutions Designers, Technical Leads, developers and other team members to ensure that the outcomes delivered meet the business benefits and adhere to agreed standards, policies and design patterns Define and drive car architecture vison and systems strategy Lead, coach and mentor a small team of Solution Designers Provide ad-hoc technical consultancy and support (including impact assessments) as required What you'll do: Works with external partners and suppliers to deliver require business services and products Pro-actively researches relevant technologies and demonstrate their benefits by developing POCs where necessary Adding clarity to business requirements; challenges business requirements to ensure high quality candidate solutions are created Thinks outside of the box to support the business in delivering its strategic objectives rather than just responding to a pre-defined requests Provides thought leadership and drive technology innovation Provides advice on supplier and cost options, ensures that the validity of the overall solution is fully represented and considered in any RFI/RFPs process, or in the creation and evaluation of proof of concept solutions Has experience of and is conversant with migration from legacy estate delivery to cloud based solutions (e.g. AWS), DevOps practices and agile delivery methods Provides advice and guidance to business and technology stakeholders in shaping the portfolio of technology solutions to support business needs Contributes to broader architectural governance activities by participating in peer reviews for other solutions Maintains detailed awareness of, takes fully into account, and promotes throughout the organisation, any relevant statutory, internal or external regulations, standards and codes of good practice. Is capable of contributing to the definition of such regulations, standards and codes What you'll bring: Experience of Credit Cards, Commercial Cards, Card Payments Product vendors e.g. TSYS API, Integration & Middleware products Very strong, hands-on technical skills with broad knowledge of web technologies, methodologies and standards Strong software development and application architecture experience Great communicator with the ability to explain technical decisions to the broader team and company at executive Passionate about and experienced at: working in agile environments; continual delivery techniques; testing Servant leader with a passion for personal mastery and continuous improvement Motivates, leads and encourages others regardless of position within chain of command and outside of direct reporting lines Demonstrate initiative and competence; support and encourage positive working behaviours in others A life-long learner who freely shares information and experience and seeks knowledge from others Familiar with integration and implementation issues and their architectural implications.
