Overview

FYTE Accountancy & Finance are delighted to be partnered with an industry leading Legal Firm in the heart of Edinburgh to recruit a Purchase Ledger Assistant on an initial 6 month FTC basis to start immediately or at short notice. Reporting directly to the Deputy Accountant, you will be accountable for the administration and maintenance of the Firm’s purchase ledger system and processes. Key Responsibilities: Maintain the Firm’s system for dealing with all supplier payments including the recording and control of invoices received, the preparation of entries relating to payments Reconciliation of supplier statements and assistance with supplier queries; Maintain and supervise the system for dealing with petty cash, expenses and other ad hoc payment requests; Assist as required with regard to compliance with the Law Society Rules and the six monthly appraisal of such compliance leading to the issue of the required certificate; Preparation of entries relating to client and firm matters as required and entry of same onto system; Other general Finance department duties as directed including reviews of ledger balances The successful candidate will possess: Reliability with a business-like attitude to the work involved; Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to develop learning on any in-house systems used; Strong administrative and organisational skills; Good communications skills and attention to detail; An aptitude for learning in a changing environment; and Team player with ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
