Overview
This Finance Manager job in Edinburgh is a brilliant opportunity for a newly or recently qualified accountant to make a first move from practice into industry. The company is a true market leader in the UK and continues to grow not just in it's core business, but also in a number of new markets. As Finance Manager, you'll work on a number of interesting projects and support the delivery of key financial services, whilst supporting a number of influential stakeholders within and outwith finance. As Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the preparation of monthly management accounts with detailed analysis and commentary - in particular variance analysis. The Finance Manager will also prepare annual budgets and forecasts, as well as supporting the annual statutory accounts and consolidated group accounts as required. In so doing, you'll help co-ordinate the annual audit with external advisors and will also liaise with external advisors regarding corporate tax compliance and VAT matters. As Finance Manager, you'll also prepare technical accounting papers on key accounting issues as required. To be successful, it's anticipated that you will be a fully qualified accountant - most likely making a first or second move upon qualification. You'll most likely have trained with a firm of Chartered Accountants, and be familiar with accounts preparation as well as auditing work. It's anticipated that you'll be a self-starter and confident communicating with a wide stakeholder base. Good excel skills would be a distinct advantage.
