Job role: Senior Residential Care Worker Location: Sheffield, S80 Pay scale: £18,900 to £20,000 Job Purpose of a Senior Residential Care Worker: To contribute both individually and as part of a team in providing young people with quality care in accordance with the policies and procedures of the organisation, To proactively assist in providing a safe and homely environment for young people to thrive within. To promote the rights of young people as individuals and to actively help young people to reach their full potential by identifying and strengthening areas of weakness and developing areas of strength. Ensure that the home operates to agreed budgets and contribute to keeping within these budgets as instructed Participate in training and take responsibility for personal development Duties and Responsibilities of a Senior Residential Care Worker: To work effectively as part of the team Manage the shift for which you are responsible Take responsibility for finances and petty cash Support the senior in all aspects of the shift, ensuring all tasks and paperwork for any incidents are completed and third parties are informed as per protocols Allocate the tasks to carers Complete tasks that are allocated to ensure the smooth running of the home and positive outcomes for young people and carers Ensure that all relevant paperwork is complete whilst you are supervising the shift Care to residents Participate in the rota for the care of young people as part of the care team and complete tasks including: Ensuring care plans are followed for young people ensuring positive outcomes Organising activity planners, activities and participating in activities for the young people Domestic duties including cleaning and laundry to maintain a clean safe environment Cooking and shopping for the home and the young people Transporting young people to appointments, activities, meetings etc when required Fulfil sleep in duties as according to the agreed rota Attends planning/ care review/ PEP meetings and complete necessary reports. Check that all young people have care plans/ EHCP in place that are up to date, accurate and followed Safeguard young people ensuring their safety and wellbeing Administer medication following policies and procedures of the home and regulatory requirements Ensure that all the young person’s finances are recorded and signed for by the young Person Specification of a Senior Residential Care Worker: Essential Level 3 Children and Young Peoples Workforce Diploma or equivalent Full Driving license At least 1 years’ experience working with children/young people in a similar environment Supervisor/management/senior experience Desired, but not essential Therapeutic qualifications Counselling qualifications If you are interested in this rewarding position, apply today This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/89614532
