Fire Safety Surveyor - Public Sector Organisation - South London - Outside IR35- up to £480 per day Your new company On behalf of a public sector organisation in South London, Hays Property & Surveying are now looking for a Fire Safety Surveyor, to join the Housing Division and help the organisation meeting its Compliance Regulatory responsibilities. This is a 6 month full time contract, outside IR35, as project based. Your new role You'll be providing Fire Safety Management and advice on an interim basis. Some of your duties: Taking a risk based approach to ensure that Fire Risk Assessments and the resulting remedial actions are carried out within the required timescales. Manage the fire risk assessment programme, with particular emphasis on ensuring review dates are met and all actions are logged with the correct priority. Ensure that any programme of remedial works is delivered on time and measured against clearly defined success parameters ensuring any performance issues are promptly and appropriately addressed. Liaise with surveyors and other colleagues as appropriate to ensure timely and effective management of fire risk assessment remedial actions; highlighting potential impact on future budget requirements. What you'll need to succeed You will have experience of working within a regulatory framework where compliance, risk management and precise outcomes are essential. You'll possess a comprehensive understanding of fire safety legislation, particularly related to social housing. Having, or developing, a good knowledge of fire risk assessment and safety measures and controls within buildings, you should also be familiar with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and with the Hackitt Report: Independent Review of Building Regulations and Fire Safety. You'll have Construction and/or Property related Qualification (degree level or equivalent) or minimum 10 years' experience in an equivalent role. NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety & Risk Management.
