Job Description As a member of our Strategic Environmental & Safety Consulting (SESC) team, you will be working as a Fire Risk Assessor across various sectors including buildings, manufacturing, infrastructure, etc. and be responsible for undertaking fire risk assessments for our clients. The SECS team is growing and we are looking for an experienced Fire Risk Assessor to provide our clients with Strategic Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Business Advice, so our clients can not only manage their risks, but also drive excellence in their EHS performance. Furthermore, this role will ensure that our clients and our own risk assessment and audits are compliant with the most up to date fire regulations. This will mainly involve desktop reviews of relevant fire documentation (e.g., existing fire risk assessment reports; existing fire safety strategy reports; fire drawings, such as fire compartmentation drawings), as well as site visits for carrying out the fire risk assessments and fire safety audits and supporting the fire safety discipline at Arcadis. Sharing ideas and perspectives with fellow Arcadians, you'll be part of tight-knit team, focused on delivering for our client and preparing proposals and marketing material in relation to our Fire Safety capabilities. This role will predominantly be serving clients in London and the South East. Your Day-to-Day: * Carrying out site visits when needed for conducting Fire Risk Assessments * Development of Fire Risk Assessment reports; Hazard Identification * Risk Based Interpretation and Application of these fire safety documents * Assessment and understanding of the main British fire safety legislation and standards applied to buildings, such as Approved Document B (AD B), BS9999, BS7974. * Conducting fire safety management audits. * Presenting findings arising from fire risk assessments and/or fire safety management audits to clients. * Supporting other Arcadis business units with fire safety enquiries. * Maintaining your CPD and contributing to fire safety team meetings/Team CPD sessions. Requirements * Fire Risk Assessors and/or Auditors qualifications by a professional institution, such as FPA, IFE etc. * Experienced in conducting fire risk assessments (including Type 3), fire safety audits and writing fire risk assessment reports. * As Low as Reasonably Practicable (ALARP) understanding. * Knowledge of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and supporting guidance documents such as Approved Document B, BS 9999, BS 9991, BS 9997, BB 100, HTM 05 and the MHCLG fire risk assessment guides. * An understanding of fire dynamics, heat transfer and smoke behaviour principles in built environments with regards to means of escape and life safety when conducting a fire risk assessment * An understanding on Active Fire Protection (AFP), Passive Fire Protection (PFP) systems and RSETxASET and their impact on the evacuation strategy for the premises being risk assessed. * Ability to travel to clients (travel will be paid). * Desirable: Fire door inspection diploma/inspector qualification, passive fire protection inspection qualification and/or Fire extinguisher/fire warden trainer Why Arcadis?
