Head of Housing Delivery, new build homes, construction and management, affordable housing. Your new company Based in East London this public-sector organisation is involved in one of the largest new build housing programmes the East London area. They are currently establishing a new structure which brings together housing, planning, regeneration, housing delivery and economic development in a single directorate. They are therefore looking for an Interim Head of Housing Delivery who has a track record of delivering new build housing projects at scale and on time. Your new role The primary purpose of the role is to lead and deliver the organisation's affordable homes programme starting with a target of 1,000 houses by 2022. As the Head of Housing Delivery, you will lead a multi-disciplinary team of expert professionals ensuring the effective and timely implementation, of designing and delivering new homes in the East London area. What you'll need to succeed As the Head of Housing Delivery, you will need to have a passion for delivering affordable homes and improving neighbourhoods, from design quality and safety of build right through to engagement with key stakeholders including politicians and the local community. Above all the Head of Housing Delivery will excel in establishing high performing teams, motivating professionals, whilst maintain a firm grip on key priorities and deliverables. Key Aspects of the job: Lead the Housing Delivery Team on the entire life cycle of development and construction from inception to full completion and handover. This will include being responsible for design matters, planning processes, construction management, and resident engagement throughout. Manage the delivery team including both permanent members of staff, interim staff and external consultants. Responsible for a capital budget of up to £100m per year. As the successful candidate will need to demonstrate a proven ability and experience of leading developments of large complex new build housing projects in urban areas and managing large capital and revenue budgets. You will need to have experience of housing delivery ideally in a local authority or housing association markets. In addition, you must have experience of managing large teams and have a track record of delivering on time and budget. A combination of experience in effective resident engagement and conducting commercial negotiations within multi-stakeholder environments is also key to your skills set.
