Senior Civil Engineer - Rail - Cardiff - Competitive Salary & Package Your new company Your new company are a national multidisciplinary consultancy that is a wholly owned division of the wider company group. They provide a broad range of professional services covering the design, engineering, construction, infrastructure and property markets. They cover the whole of the UK with 50 offices and 3700 staff. The Cardiff office, specialises in civil engineering and transportation. They are a leading local employer of transport planners and, due to the increasing workload, are expanding the transportation team. They mainly work for public and private sector clients across South Wales but increasingly the workload is spread across the UK. They have a high-quality office with gym, showers, cycle parking provision, lockers and free car parking. They undertake a full range of challenging and varied work, ranging from the planning and design of public transport, rail and road schemes, to transport assessments, travel planning and public consultation work. You can expect to be involved in the delivery of technical transport planning projects, mainly via traffic modelling work, to a wide range of clients. Your new role Providing technical support to ensure assigned projects are successfully delivered under professionally supervision to a wide variety of sectors and developments. Working alongside other design disciplines in Common Data Environments with the opportunities to learn new skills and develop your career on the job. Some of your responsibilities will include: Preparation of technical outputs to the highest standards in accordance with the companies quality management system Resolving technical issues Help to develop the production of drawings, reports and specifications Scope and supervise surveys Opportunity to work under mentorship to develop and undertake CRE responsibilities on Rail projects Becoming familiar and compliant with relevant Health, Safety and Welfare regulations and to promote companies SHEW culture within your team What you'll need to succeed Engineering degree in a relevant discipline. Chartered or working towards chartership for the Institute of Civil Engineers or equivalent Relevant experience working in the rail sector. PTS qualification desirable Experience working in some of the below areas: Lineside civils works Platform and canopy design Gantry and foundation designs Rock cutting stabilisation works Designers risk assessments Bridge design, refurbishment and strengthening schemes Completing design forms (F001-003) Cat 3 checking of third-party designs UTX/URX design What you'll get in return The package consists of a competitive salary, contractual working hours of 37.5 per week, flexible working hours, annual leave-25 days (plus statutory), increasing to 27 days after 5 years, company pension scheme, voluntary benefit options, including a share save scheme, a cycle to work scheme, discounted retail vouchers, various private insurance schemes, and holiday buy back etc. You will also be offered payment of one relevant professional subscription.
