Job Summary – Plant Fitter/ Manager We are searching for a Plant Fitter/ Manager to join our busy London depot in Essex. We need an ambitious and hardworking professional who thrives under pressure and can think on their feet. The position would suit an experienced all-rounder who has a general interest in technical products and problem solving. Experience in servicing and maintaining vans and trucks is also an advantage. You will be servicing, maintaining and repairing our fleet of towable generators (7kVA to 100kVA) and lighting towers. Our fleet is constantly utilised and so scheduling and maintaining service records is essential. You will also work with senior management to design and implement best practice procedures across the business. Our company offers a competitive salary and benefits. The rental inventory includes towable mobile generators up to 100kva, lighting towers, fuel bowsers, water bowsers, ground guards, portable toilets (known as honeywagons in the industry), power distribution, cable, marquees, tables, chairs, make up mirrors the list goes on. The industry is extremely dynamic working to very short lead times and on a 24/7 basis. Responsibilities & Duties You will report in to the senior management team and your responsibilities will be as follows: ? Maintaining and servicing company generators and tower lights ? Checking for damages, diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs ? Using various hand and power tools, as well as welding gear and electrical testing equipment ? Servicing and maintaining company vans and trucks ? Completing service records and daily log sheets ? Liaising with the Operations Manager to prioritise tasks in line with business demand ? Developing best practice procedures and working with senior management to implement them company-wide ? Training more junior staff members Qualifications and Skills ? At least 5 years’ experience maintaining and repairing plant equipment, which will ideally include 7kVA - 100kVA generators ? Experience in servicing and maintaining vans and trucks is also an advantage ? Excellent communication skills ? Good problem-solving skills ? Calm under pressure and an ability to adapt to last-minute changes ? Excellent Health & Safety knowledge ? Good administration/ organisational skills Hours of work: ? Monday to Friday 09:00 to 18:00 (though flexibility on start/ finish time is required) ? Overtime will be available ?
